This is one of the best things that I’ve cooked since I made my venison chili earlier this week lmao. I don’t mean to toot my own horn, but my wife (who could be a chef in her own right) said that is was restaurant quality. Here’s how I did it and what you’ll need!
-Catfish fillets
-Lemon juice
-1 egg
-Flour
-Panko breading
-Cajun seasoning
-Old Bay seasoning
-Dill
-Parsley
-Cayenne or Paprika
-Garlic powder
-Mayo
Salt + pepper
-Relish or chopped up pickles
Start by getting three bowls, one for flour, one for the egg and one for the Panko…make sure to whip up the egg. Start by dredging the fillets in flour, then into the egg wash, and then into the Panko. After that set them down on a plate, and coat one side with Cajun and Old Bay. Put them down on the seasoned side in the air fryer, and coat the other side with the same blend. Cook them at max heat for 4-5 minutes on each side. While they are cooking, get to work on your homemade tartar sauce. Start by getting a good serving off mayo, followed by a few spoonfuls of relish. Then, add a dash of cayenne, parsley and garlic powder. Add plenty of dill and mix in a splash of lemon juice. Stir, taste and add more seasoning based on taste. Cook with some veggies on the side and you’ve got the perfect meal right here!
