Up for sale is a Browning A-5 Light Twelve 12 Gauge 30" 2 3/4" Semi Auto Shotgun MFD 1978, GREAT CONDITION, NO BOXMake: Browning Arms / Made in JapanModel: A5 Light TwelveYear of Manufacture: 1978Gauge: 12 Gauge, 2 3/4" ChamberAction Type: Long Recoil Semi Automatic Shotgun fed by Tubular MagazineMarkings: The left side of the barrel is marked "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q." / "MADE IN JAPAN". The right side of the barrel is marked "BROWNING AUTO-5" / "**SPECIAL STEEL-12 GA SHELLS-2 3/4"-30" / "BROWNING PATENTS". The left side of the receiver is marked "Light Twelve" / "BROWNING" and a bust of John Browning. The receiver, tangs and trigger guard have tasteful Grade I engraving.Barrel Lengths: 30" Vent Ribbed Choke: Modified Sights / Optics: The front sight is a silver bead fixed atop the vented rib. There is no rear sight, but there is a channel for sight alignment. The top of the receiver and the rib are serrated for glare reduction.Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are a two-piece checkered walnut set with a semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, ventilated York Arms Co. buttpad, and finger grooves running the length of the forend. There are handling scratches and compression dents throughout. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14 1/8" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. Overall, the stocks are in Very Good-Fine condition. Type of Finish: BlueFinish Originality: Original.Bore Condition: The bore is bright. There is minor fouling. There is minor corrosion staining in the bore at the muzzle end. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates about 7.5/10.Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 85% of its metal finish. There are handling scratches and minor dings. There is finish loss along the barrel from taking the forend off. There is finish loss along the bottom of the receiver as well as the higher edges and at the wrist. There are corrosion freckles along the barrel and receiver. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in Very Good condition. Mechanics: The action functions correctly.
