Considerations & Trade-offs
- This is a three-piece combo, so it offers versatility but also means more items to carry and keep organized than a single tool.
- The machete and hatchet are both listed with 3Cr13MoV steel, which is a practical detail to note if you want to compare material choices across tools.
- The tri-fold shovel folds down from 23.25" to 9.5", which improves packability, but the compact design is a trade-off versus a full-size shovel.
- Nylon sheaths are included for each tool, but each piece still needs to be managed separately in the field or pack.
