Colt Combat Commander Shooter s Model Features The Colt Combat Commander is built around a 4.25 National Match stainless steel barrel paired with a blued carbon steel frame and serrated optics-ready blued steel slide delivering reliable accuracy across a wide range of .38 Super loads in a commander-size profile shorter than a traditional full-size Government Model. The optics-ready slide is pre-cut for direct mounting of miniature red dot sights while White Dot Novak front and rear sights provide a clean high-visibility iron sight baseline for use with or without a mounted optic. The dual spring recoil system reduces felt recoil for faster more comfortable follow-up shots while extending recoil spring service life beyond a conventional single-spring setup. The Colt Combat Commander features an upswept beavertail grip safety and ambidextrous thumb safety providing a layered active and passive safety package accessible to both right- and left-handed operators without modification. Black cherry G10 grips deliver a secure textured purchase under recoil while distinguishing the Combat Commander visually from standard production 1911s.
