Overview
Built for waterfowl hunters who want a 12 gauge steel load in a 3-1/2 inch shell, this Federal Premium option pairs BB and 2 shot with a 1 1/2 oz payload and a listed muzzle velocity of 1500 fps. It uses the FLITECONTROL FLEX wad and zinc-plated steel payload as described by the manufacturer, with the goal of producing very tight patterns and extending effective range. Considerations & Trade-offs
- 3-1/2 in. shells require a compatible 12 gauge shotgun chambered for that length, so fit should be confirmed before use.
- The 1 1/2 oz payload and 1500 fps loading are built for a specific waterfowl application, which may be more than needed for lighter-duty use.
- Shot size is listed as BB and 2 Shot, so this load is aimed at particular hunting scenarios rather than being a general-purpose option.
- Package quantity is 25 rounds, which may be less convenient for high-volume practice or extended outings.
