Overview

The FN-49 (also known as the SAFN) "Venezuelan Contract" is highly regarded by collectors as one of the finest iterations of this semi-automatic battle rifle. Venezuela was the first nation to officially adopt the FN-49, signing a contract in 1948 before the Belgian military.The Venezuelan variant is unique among FN-49 models due to several specific features: Caliber: Chambered in 7x57mm Mauser (7mm Mauser), a round known for its accuracy and relatively mild recoil compared to other contemporary battle rifle cartridges.Muzzle Brake: Unlike most other FN-49 contracts, Venezuelan rifles were factory-issued with a distinctive integral muzzle brake.Receiver Markings: Features the Venezuelan Crest prominently stamped on the receiver ring.Buttplate: Typically includes a corrugated metal buttplate.
