Overview

The FN Herstal FN 509 is a full-size, striker-fired, semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm. It features a durable polymer frame, a 4-inch cold hammer-forged barrel, aggressive grip texturing, fully ambidextrous controls, interchangeable backstraps for different hand sizes, and a Picatinny accessory rail for mounting a light or laser. Standard models are typically equipped with fixed 3-dot sights and use 17-round magazines where legally permitted.
