Foam Back Craw

Overview

In the case of crawfish patterns, second place isn&';t last. Only the Tickle Monster can claim superiority to the Foam Back Craw in the Blue Line (crawfish) lineup. Don&';t let the foam fool you - this sucker sinks. The foam helps position the fly diagonally to mimic the natural appearance of a crawfish and the extended tail adds a wiggle even the fussiest of trout or bass can&';t resist. It nymphs well (where the TM doesn't), can be used under an indicator, and is fishable with a bare-floating line or sink tip. A stiff five can handle the Foam Back Craw, however, a six weight or bigger will manage it better.
