Considerations & Trade-offs

- The barb on the shank helps hold bait in place, but it also adds a bit of extra security to remove or adjust bait compared with a smooth shank.
- The corrosion-resistant finish is described for freshwater use, so this hook is best matched to freshwater trout and salmon applications.
- Short-shank design supports a natural bait presentation, but it offers less shank length than longer-hook styles for rigs that need more room.
