Considerations & Trade-offs
- Requires a compatible Garmin handheld device sold separately to track, train, and manage the collar’s functions.
- The stated up to 9-mile range and 2.5-second update rate are performance limits, not guarantees, and will vary with conditions.
- Battery life depends on Dynamic Tracking use; the up to 68-hour figure is not a fixed runtime for every outing.
- Waterproofing is rated to 1 ATM (10m), so it is not presented as a fully submersible or dive-ready device.
