Overview

Named because it was the 17th patent procured by Glock the G17 also known simply as the Glock 17 is a semi-automatic handgun that was first introduced in 1982 as the new service pistol for the Austrian military and within a decade the G17 found popularity in more than 45 other countries. This full-size pistol is chambered 9mm and offers a vertical barrel tilt as well as a standard 171 capacity and a detachable box magazine. The Glock 17 also features tool-free take-down for easy maintenance. Glock went on to produce four additional generations of the G17 with each generation adding upgrades and improvements on the last.
