Considerations & Trade-offs
- This is .17 HMR rimfire ammunition, so it is intended for compatible rifles chambered for that cartridge and is not a general-purpose load.
- The 20-grain HP varmint load is positioned for small- to medium-sized varmints, so it is not a substitute for larger-game or all-around hunting ammunition.
- The product is sold in a 50-round box, which may be convenient for range use or a short hunt, but it is a relatively limited quantity for high-volume shooting.
- The description emphasizes varmint use and speed/lethality, so hunters looking for a different balance of terminal behavior or application may need to choose a different load.
