JP Enterprises VMOS Bolt Carrier Features The VMOS Bolt Carrier is built around the Variable Mass Operating System a platform that addresses the fundamental limitation of fixed-mass bolt carriers by allowing the shooter to exchange the forward two weight positions between steel and tungsten to precisely tune reciprocating mass for a given rifle configuration. The heavy version ships with one steel and two tungsten weights providing a heavier out-of-the-box configuration optimized for suppressed use and exotic caliber chamberings where additional mass is required to slow bolt carrier velocity and ensure reliable cycling in the absence of an adjustable gas block. Compatible weights are shared with JP Enterprises GEN 2 Silent Captured Spring units giving shooters flexibility to mix and match weights across both systems for optimal tuning. The roller-burnished bore provides a frictionless operating surface that significantly reduces carrier wear and cycling resistance while the rock-hard QPQ finish delivers remarkable natural lubricity that complements proper lubrication for extremely smooth cycling throughout the life of the carrier.
