Overview

The 590 was originally designed for use in the military and is built as a robust tactical shotgun that features Mossberg's signature dual action extractors, twin action bars and a positive steel-to-steel lockup and anti-jam elevator for smooth operation. An ambidextrous safety aids in ease of operation while a clean-out tube design allows for ease of maintenance.The S model is designed for use with the popular 1.75-inch mini shotshells for more reliable feeding and operation, giving users double the capacity compared traditional 2.75 and 3-inch shells. This model features an optic-ready receiver cut for use with optic sharing in the Shield RMSc footprint and is paired with an M-LOK handguard for quick and easy attachment of accessories. The magazine tube sports a 7/8/13-shell capacity depending on the type of shell used (3/2.75/1.75-inch shells respectively).
