Overview
Built for anglers who want a light, durable fly reel without unnecessary bulk, this model is suited to everyday trout and similar freshwater setups in the 5/6 range. The die-cast aluminum body and ported large arbor design are paired with a compact carbon fiber drag system, giving it a practical balance of reduced weight and controlled stopping power. A recessed drag knob, push-button spool release, and left- or right-hand retrieve conversion add convenience on the water, while the included nylon reel case helps protect it during transport. Considerations & Trade-offs
- The reel is sized for 5/6 line weights, so it’s a focused choice rather than a do-everything option across multiple setups.
- Die-cast aluminum keeps weight down, but it may not appeal to anglers who prefer a machined-reel feel.
- The compact carbon fiber drag offers a streamlined setup, though it does not provide the broader drag detail found on more complex systems.
- Interchangeable spools add flexibility, but that benefit is most useful if you already use or plan to use compatible RISE reel spools.
