The Remington 700 EtronX in .220 Swift, produced from 2000 to 2003, is a rare, innovative rifle utilizing a 9-volt battery-powered electric firing system instead of a mechanical firing pin. Designed for extreme accuracy in varmint shooting, it offered instantaneous ignition (virtually zero lock time) but failed commercially due to specialized ammunition requirements.
