Rifle is in all-original factory configuration; no modifications or refinish work observed.The Remington Model 721 was introduced in January 1948 as Remington's first completely new centerfire bolt-action rifle after World War II. Designed by Mike Walker and Homer Young, it featured a strong cylindrical receiver, dual opposed locking lugs, and a one-piece bolt - design elements that directly carried over into the Model 700 introduced in 1962. The Model 721 was produced from 1948 through 1962 (approximately 173,000 total units) and was originally offered only in .270 Winchester, .30-06 Springfield, and .300 H&H Magnum. This rifle, made in February 1952, falls in the middle of the production run when the improved 721A grade with impressed checkering became standard.
