Overview
The Remington Model 788, produced from 1967 to 1983, was designed by Wayne Leek as an affordable, high-accuracy, "no-frills" bolt-action rifle, often outperforming the more expensive Model 700. Known for its unique 9-lug rear locking system, 60-degree bolt throw, and detachable magazine, roughly 565,000 units were made in various calibers.
