Overview
Introduced in December 2015, the Ruger American Pistol is a polymer-framed, striker-fired, duty-grade handgun developed as a durable, "100-percent American-made" alternative to competitors in a crowded market. Designed with heavy influence from the U.S. Army's Modular Handgun System (MHS) specifications, it is designed for extreme reliability-tested to over 25,000 rounds-and features a low bore axis for reduced perceived recoil.
