Overview

The Savage Axis was introduced in 2010 as an affordable, entry-level bolt-action rifle, positioned below the company's Model 110. The original model was designed for new shooters and budget-conscious buyers, featuring an affordable price point and an emphasis on "out-of-the-box" accuracy. A significant update came in 2014 with the release of the Axis II, which incorporated Savage's adjustable AccuTrigger system. Subsequent years have seen ergonomic and feature set upgrades, including a new stock design in 2018 and a modernized lineup announced in August 2024.
