Considerations & Trade-offs
- Designed for downrigger use, so it is not a general-purpose line release for every fishing setup.
- Tension is adjusted by moving the line in and out of the jaws, which gives control but also means setup may take a little tuning to match conditions.
- The streamlined design is intended to reduce snagging, but any release used around weeds or fouled lines still requires attention during deployment and retrieval.
- Includes an 18" wire leader with cannonball snap, which is useful for that application but may not suit anglers looking for a different connection style or length.
