Overview
Built for anglers targeting catfish, this casting rod combines a 9'6" length with medium heavy power and a moderate action to handle a range of line and bait setups. Its 100% graphite construction is presented as lighter and more sensitive than earlier Ugly Stik Carbon models, while still carrying the brand’s familiar toughness. The two-piece design adds convenience for transport and storage, though the longer length may be less compact than shorter rods. With a 15–40 lb line rating, it suits serious catfish fishing where control and backbone matter.

Considerations & Trade-offs
- The 9'6" length may feel less convenient for transport and storage than shorter rods, especially if you travel light or fish from tight spaces.
- Medium heavy power with a moderate action is a deliberate middle ground, so anglers looking for a very fast or very soft response may want a different setup.
- The 15–40 lb line rating gives useful range, but it still requires matching your line choice to the rod’s intended use rather than treating it as a one-size-fits-all option.
- The rod comes in 2 pieces, which improves portability but adds a sectioned joint compared with a one-piece build.
