Considerations & Trade-offs
- The 1000-size reel and 7 lb max drag make this a lighter-duty option, so it may be less suited to heavier line classes or larger fish applications.
- The 5.0:1 gear ratio is a measured, versatile retrieve choice, but it is not a high-speed reel for anglers prioritizing faster line pickup.
- Line capacity is listed for specific mono and braid sizes, so matching it to your setup matters if you plan to fish outside those ranges.
- At 7.2 oz, it is not the lightest reel in its class, which may matter on ultralight outfits or for long sessions where every ounce counts.
