Overview

Smith & Wesson 442-2 - 38 Spl +P - 1-7/8" Barrel - 5 Shot - 2008 ModelSmith & Wesson 442 Airweight revolvers have been a popular choice for concealed carry for quite some time. They are lightweight, capable of firing +P ammo, snag free, easily concealable and the recoil is easily managed thanks to the 38 Spl chambering. Our 442-2 is a 2008 model wearing serial number DCS9545 and comes with a 1-7/8" barrel. The carbon steel cylinder holds 5 rounds of 38 Special. The aluminum alloy frame keeps the overall weight down, adding to its appeal as a concealed carry handgun. While some folks prefer the higher magazine capacity of a semi-automatic handgun, many people are attracted to the simplicity and reliability of the 442 revolver. The 442 is double action only (snag-free without the exposed hammer) and is built on the Smith J frame. The revolver has a rear sight channel and a fixed front ramp sight. The metal finish is a matte black and the black synthetic grips have finger grooves for positive control of the handgun. This one has a clean bore and a very bright barrel. The rifling is clearly defined. Lockup on the cylinder is tight and the double action only trigger is lighter and more easily manageable than you might expect. The grips are in Very Good condition with only slight handling marks. The frame is Very Good - Excellent and there is only a very slight wear ring on the cylinder.Overall this is a very nice, attractively priced revolver that is in Very Good - Excellent condition. Whether you view this as a primary concealed carry piece or a lightweight backup, the model 442-2 will fill either role equally well.Purchase includes the revolver, original case, owner's manual, cable lock, keys and spent cartridge dated 10/1/2008.This is a consignment sale and, like all of our consignments, we have not test fired this revolver. We have performed our function checks and find no issues to report. As with all pre-owned firearm purchases, please review the photos carefully so that you are comfortable with the condition of the revolver.
