Smith & Wesson Model 60 (No Dash) - 38 Spl - 3" Barrel - 1985 ModelThe Smith & Wesson Model 60 first came on the market in 1965 as the first ever all stainless steel handgun. Produced for years in 38 Special, it would later be changed to 357 Magnum when the frame was strengthened to handle the Magnum load. The revolver's size, corrosion resistant finish and rugged durability have made this a popular carry option for years. Our Model 60 (no dash) Chiefs Special (serial number AEU8598) is a 1985 model chambered for 38 Special ammunition. This is the 3 inch barrel model, which is typically more in demand than the 2 inch version. The fluted cylinder holds 5 rounds. The rear sight is a channel in the top of the frame and the front sight is a fixed ramp model. The revolver functions in both double and single action modes. The grips are a black, checkered Pachmayar model and are in Very Good condition with limited wear. The bore is good, the barrel is bright and the rifling is in good shape as well. The finish does show some wear on the cylinder with an additional small area on both the left and right side of the barrel. If you're a fan of vintage Smith & Wesson revolvers either as a carry option, for collectability or just for fun shooting, take a good look at this particular example.
