Overview
Built for shooters who want a full-size 9mm pistol with a traditional layout, this model pairs a 5" barrel with fixed sights and a 17+1 round capacity. Its frame-mounted ambidextrous safety offers three positions, including a decocking function and the option for cocked-and-locked carry, while the loaded chamber indicator adds a quick visual check. A Picatinny rail provides space for accessories, and the Taurus Security System gives the pistol an additional built-in locking option. Considerations & Trade-offs
- The 5" barrel and full-size PT92 layout may be less compact for hunters or outdoorsmen who prioritize easier carry and storage.
- The fixed sights keep the setup simple, but they do not offer the adjustability some users prefer for fine-tuning point of impact.
- The 17+1 capacity is substantial, but it also reflects a larger pistol profile rather than a streamlined carry-focused design.
- The ambidextrous 3-position safety/decocker adds versatility, though it introduces more controls to learn and manage than a simpler manual safety setup.
