Overview
The M85 is an AK-pattern rifle originally developed for the Yugoslavian People's Army and is the shortened version of M80 series of AK-style rifles. The M85 is uniquely chambered in the common western 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge. Other iconic features include the Yugo-styled extended handguard with a 3-vent design, an AK-74U-style flash hider, and a reinforced frame made from thicker steel to improve durability. The ZPAP designation is an acronym for "Zastava Polu-Automatska Puska" which means "Zastava Semi-Automatic Rifle", and is the commercial sporting model of the firearm. This model features a vented gasblock heat shield, paratrooper-style underfolding stock and a faux suppressor. The dust cover features a 1913 Picatinny rail for mounting optics to the receiver.
