Overview
Built for concealed carry and everyday defensive use, this compact 9mm keeps the Security-9 platform’s familiar Secure Action System and shrouded internal hammer in a smaller, easier-to-carry format. Its reduced size is intended to ride more discreetly under clothing while still offering a contoured grip, low-profile safety, and a sight setup designed for practical alignment. Ruger also pairs the pistol with a hard-coated aluminum chassis, glass-filled nylon grip frame, and a blued slide and barrel, giving it a straightforward, duty-minded construction. For hunters and outdoorsmen who want a compact sidearm for protection in camp or on the move, it offers a balanced mix of carry convenience and familiar manual operation.

- The compact size improves concealability, but it also means less overall grip and sight radius than the full-sized Security-9.
- The 10+1 capacity is practical for concealed carry, though it is lower than higher-capacity service pistols.
- The low-profile safety and internal-hammer design are unobtrusive, but they may feel different from more familiar striker-fired controls.
- Its medium-texture grip is intended to balance comfort and hold, so it may not offer the more aggressive traction some users prefer.
