Considerations & Trade-offs
- The stated 32-mile range is a maximum figure and is only achievable over water or open rural areas under optimum conditions, so real-world range may be much shorter depending on terrain and obstructions.
- The radios run on the included rechargeable battery packs or 3 AAA batteries, but AAA batteries are not included.
- Weather alert and weather scan features can help with awareness, but they do not replace dedicated emergency weather information or local conditions monitoring.
- Water-resistant design offers some protection, but the product description does not indicate full waterproofing or submersion capability.
